Our Approach
 
The AtelBIS team are specialists in coaching clients in the use of LEAN tools and leadership behaviors required to deliver immediate and sustainable business improvement. We work with clients to install a proven process that ensures the client continues to deliver improvements once we have left site.
 
We believe it is vitally important that an improvement program not be singled out and treated as an event by applying a name or standard methodology to it, but rather becomes the way things are done in the business. In order to accomplish this a range of improvement tools and techniques may be called upon where they are relevant and applicable to the situation. Above all the right LEADERSHIP BEHAVIOURS and focus are critical.
 
We have also observed that to internally fuel enthusiasm and gain alignment to the new way of doing business, some improvements in performance need to be rapidly and clearly demonstrated by the client team. To accomplish this we engage a  cross section of site people, they are trained and actively coached in applying the tools to the given area -   delivering an immediate and visible improvement in performance. 
 
The first step is for the client to understand how they can improve their business, and the potential improvement available.
 
The Assessment
 
A Site/Area Assessment  takes between 2 to 4 days and during this time we:
  • get to understand your business and strategic direction.
  • will identify the key drivers of performance and by applying our approach will quantify the improvement opportunity available to the site/area team.
  • tailor a proposal for us to work with your Team to realise the opportunities. This proposal includes our Performance Guarantee. It is not uncommon for us to commit to delivering at least $1 million in demonstrated savings during our engagement.
 
Delivery of our program
 
We believe that for any program to be successful, and sustainable, a cross section of our clients employees need to be involved in the program. To achieve this we adopt a 2 tiered approach:
 
1. Management Engagement Process (MEP)
The Management Team own the process, their leadership behaviors are key to the success. From day one the Management Team is engaged and coached in respect of the improvement process, the site goals and their roles and behaviors. This is critical for success and sustainable business improvement.
 
2. Immediate Performance Improvement  (IPI)
Central to our process, this is a catalyst for the site to gain momentum and confidence in the new way of doing business. This involves a cross section of site people, they are trained and actively coached in applying the tools to the given area  -  delivering an immediate and visible improvement in performance.
